Richard’s established clients operate in education, health, property development, property services, Australian manufacturing and retail. He assists start-ups with establishing holding structures and their journey to commercialisation and beyond.

Richard has advised companies listed on the ASX 100, US Multinationals, International Fund Managers, high net worth individuals and family groups. While working as a Tax Manager at KPMG, Richard advised on M&A deals, cross border advisory engagements, and statutory audits in property, technology and banking sectors; he was seconded to an ASX 100 company’s in-house tax team and assisted that high-risk quadrant client with successfully closing a tax audit.

Richard is highly sought after by successful retirees, business owners / Boards of Directors and professional firms who value his “Big 4” experience and multi-disciplinary background working on multi-million dollar projects, high-stakes litigation, taxation and estate planning matters. Richard acts for clients and communities located in and within the vicinity of the Western Sydney Aerotropolis district. His family own and operate Goldenfield Growers, who won the Sydney Markets Grower of the Year Award in 2016 and finalists of that award in 2018. He is passionate about maintaining balance between responsible urban development and conservation of rural land for community food security. Between 2018 and 2021, Richard acted pro-bono on behalf of the Wallacia community in opposition to the development of the Wallacia Golf Course into a cemetery, including making submissions to the NSW Independent Planning Commission. Despite a lengthy and exhausting planning process, those efforts were ultimately successful, with the NSW Government directing the cessation of any development pending the finalisation of the OneCrown proposal to amalgamate Crown Cemetery operations under a single Crown entity.

Richard holds dual qualifications as a Solicitor and Chartered Accountant with a career spanning over 15 years. A member of the Law Society and Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand, Richard is also a Registered Tax Agent.

Prior to co-founding VanderFox, Richard established Stratos Lawyers and Stratos Accountants in 2016.
